About Saras Totey

Saras Totey is a Boulder, Colorado student and the Head of Digital Strategy and Economic Research at Dividend Collective. He is also the founder of econ.mom (The Mother Of Econ), a suite of twelve free, citation-rigorous economics tools used by AP students, high-school debaters, and policy desks; and the founder of EconLever, a research-backed macroeconomic simulator that visualizes the tradeoffs of fiscal and monetary policy on U.S. growth, deficits, and inequality. At Dividend Collective, Saras translates market research into the weekly newsletter, runs the data pipelines behind the model portfolio, and contributes the macro thinking that shapes the firm's equity selection.

Saras attends Fairview High School in Boulder, where he captains the Speech & Debate team, founded and co-presides over the Economics Olympiad Club, co-founded the Philosophy Club, and serves as Vice President of the Cyber Security Club. The breadth of those interests — economics, philosophy, security, and competitive argumentation — is what he brings to the way Dividend Collective writes about markets: clearly, rigorously, and with a willingness to argue both sides.

Founder of econ.mom and EconLever

Outside of Dividend Collective, Saras founded econ.mom, also known as The Mother Of Econ: a free, citation-first toolkit for economics students and researchers. The site bundles twelve tools written from primary sources: an AP FRQ Grader, TariffLab, Shadow Fed, Textbook Atlas, Shock Simulator, Paper Decoder, Econ News Translator, US Econ Dashboard, EconLever, an Inflation Decomposer (Bernanke-Blanchard methodology), a Natural Experiment Finder, and a Counterfactual Engine. econ.mom is built for AP Macroeconomics and AP Microeconomics students, NSDA / NSDA-style debaters, and anyone who wants the math behind a headline rather than a vibe-coded chart.
