About Saras Totey

Saras Totey is a Boulder, Colorado student and the Head of Digital Strategy and Economic Research at Dividend Collective. At the firm, Saras helps translate market research into the weekly newsletter, runs the data pipelines behind the model portfolio, and contributes the macro thinking that shapes our equity selection.

Saras attends Fairview High School in Boulder, where he captains the Speech & Debate team, founded and co-presides over the Economics Olympiad Club, co-founded the Philosophy Club, and serves as Vice President of the Cyber Security Club. The breadth of those interests — economics, philosophy, security, and competitive argumentation — is what he brings to the way Dividend Collective writes about markets: clearly, rigorously, and with a willingness to argue both sides.

  • Colorado Science Olympiad Astronomy State Champion (2026). 1st of 30 teams; gold medal awarded at the Colorado state championship, representing Fairview High School.
  • 2× National Economics Challenge National Finalist. One of eight teams (out of 2,000+) to advance to the National Economics Challenge finals in Atlanta, Georgia — first in 2025 (David Ricardo Division) and again in 2026 (Adam Smith Division), through EconEdLink and the Council for Economic Education.
  • International Economics Olympiad Winter Challenge — Bronze Medalist. 25th place globally, awarded by the International Economics Olympiad.
  • 2× NSDA National Tournament Qualifier. National Speech & Debate Association — World Schools Debate (2025) and U.S. Extemporaneous Speaking (2026).
